Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The 28th World Congress of Political Science, organised under UNESCO’s patronage, was held from July 12 to 16 in Seoul, South Korea drawing 3,359 delegates globally. Among 100 Indian participants, Dr Mamta Chandrashekhar, principal of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Arts and Commerce College, represented Madhya Pradesh as its sole delegate.
She chaired four sessions, vice-chaired one and presented two impactful research papers—one on gender and political empowerment of women in the Global South and another analysing the human rights of scheduled caste and tribal women in polarised societies.
Dr Chandrashekhar also highlighted the inclusion of Hindi in the conference’s closed panel discussions, emphasising the platform’s commitment to linguistic diversity and inclusivity.
She praised the Congress for offering a valuable opportunity to understand emerging global trends in politics and research. Notably, the president of South Korea, Lee Jae-myung addressed the participants, adding prestige to the event.
Her participation not only showcased the academic potential of Madhya Pradesh but also elevated India’s voice on a global research platform. Dr Chandrashekhar’s work emphasised both social equity and the growing role of regional languages in global academic discourse.
