Ayodhya, the sacred city of Lord Ram, is preparing to witness yet another historic moment. Preparations are in full swing for a two-day grand flag hoisting ceremony slated for November 24-25, which is expected to draw nearly 8,000 guests from across India and abroad.
Inspired by the scale and sanctity of the Ram Lalla consecration ceremony earlier this year, this upcoming event will weave together threads of religious devotion, cultural celebration, and national consciousness.
According to officials, over 2,000 rooms across Ayodhya Dham are being readied to accommodate the influx of dignitaries, with bookings scheduled to begin by the end of September.
The city will be transformed with vibrant decorations along its main roads, the installation of ornamental gateways, elaborate lighting arrangements, and cultural programs reflecting India’s rich heritage. Guests will include saints, spiritual leaders, political dignitaries, and other eminent personalities, with the list currently being finalized.
Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust General Secretary Champat Rai is personally overseeing the preparations. Accommodation arrangements include hotels, dharamshalas, registered homestays, and even ashrams and temples, for which coordination is underway with local mahants and caretakers.
Vishva Hindu Parishad to lead the event
Unlike the Ram Lalla consecration ceremony which was spearheaded by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) will take full charge of organizing this event. The VHP will manage logistics, cultural presentations, coordination with saints and spiritual leaders, and the overall structure of the program.
VHP officials emphasised that this is more than just a religious ritual — it is a celebration of Hindu unity, service, and cultural resurgence. To support the scale of the event, the organization will mobilize nearly 500 VHP volunteers from across the country.
This flag hoisting ceremony is set to become a landmark occasion, further cementing Ayodhya’s role as a national and spiritual epicenter. Organizers say it will radiate the same spiritual grandeur witnessed during the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla, while adding deeper elements of national integration and cultural pride.
