Patna: Ahead of the Bihar Assembly polls, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced 35% reservation for women candidates in all state government government services and posts. The decision was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet chaired by the Bihar CM.
Notably, this reservation will not be applicable for woman outside the state. The Bihar cabinet also approved the formation of the Bihar Youth Commission.
The main aim of the commission will be enhancing employment opportunities, imparting training and support for youth. The commission will consist of one chairperson, two vice-chairpersons, and seven members, with a maximum age limit of 45 years.

“I am pleased to inform that with the aim of providing more and more employment opportunities to the youth of Bihar, training them, and making them empowered and capable, the state government has decided to form the Bihar Youth Commission, and today the cabinet has also approved the formation of the Bihar Youth Commission,” Kumar said in an X post.
He added that the commission will coordinate with government departments to ensure better education and employment for the youth.

Earlier on July 1, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that the state cabinet had approved a comprehensive development plan for Punaura Dham, the revered birthplace of Goddess Sita in Sitamarhi district.
The assembly elections in Bihar are scheduled to take place later this year.
