Former Chhattisgarh chief minister and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel addressed a press conference after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday raided the premises of Baghel as part of a money laundering investigation against his son in the alleged liquor scam case.
Bhupesh Baghel said, "Around 7.30 in the morning, ED officers came. I welcomed them. Some of them went to the block where my family members reside. After a while, I asked for the search warrant and a senior officer came with one. I told that I had taken one of the blocks from former CM Raman Singh and now it is an office. When I asked if I could go to the Assembly, they said it would be better if I don't go..."
He claimed that the agency officials found Rs around 33 lakh which belonged to different family members.
" We said that we do farming, have a dairy and cash in hand, and we will get details about this amount in writing. They created a whole scene for only that much amount just for media hype... I asked them what they were investigating for? Now, raising a question in the Assembly has become a crime. I raised a question in the Assembly and this happened," he added.
