'Disgraced Sovereignty Of India': PM Modi's 2011 Post Targeting Previous UPA Government Goes Viral After Extradition Of Tahawwur Rana
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 14-year-old post on the Pakistani-origin terrorist has started doing rounds on social media after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack mastermind Tahawwur Rana was extradited from the United States on Thursday.

New Delhi: After the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack mastermind Tahawwur Rana was extradited from the United States on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 14-year-old post on the Pakistani-origin terrorist has started doing rounds on social media. In the 2011 post, the Prime Minister had condemned the then Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre for not being able to bring Rana to India.
In the post, PM Modi questioned the UPA government's foreign policy after "US "disgraced the sovereignty of India" calling Rana "innocent". Notably, in 2011, a US court cleared Rana of direct involvement in the Mumbai attack that killed around 170 people and injured several others. However, the court convicted the Canadian national of Pakistani origin of helping the plotters of the attack.

“US declaring Tahawwur Rana innocent in Mumbai attack has disgraced the sovereignty of India & it is a major foreign policy setback,” PM Modi had tweeted on June 10, 2011.

Rana Extradited To India:
Rana, a key accused in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks case, was extradited to India from the United States and arrived in Delhi on Thursday evening under heavy security. His return marks a major breakthrough in India’s long-standing pursuit of justice for the victims of the 26/11 attacks.
A team of six officials from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), along with senior officials from the National Security Guard (NSG), accompanied Rana on a special aircraft that landed at Palam Air Force Base, New Delhi, at 6:22 PM IST (Indian Standard Time) on Thursday.
During the 90-minute court proceedings, the NIA presented crucial evidence, including a series of email exchanges between Rana and David Headley, the co-conspirator of the Mumbai attacks.
