'If You Were Still Here, Everything Would Be Different': Sunjay Kapur's Sister Pens An Emotional & Cryptic Post Amid Property Dispute

Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, passed away on June 12, 2025. After his death, there's a property succession dispute going on amid the family. Reportedly, the property is worth a whopping Rs 30,000 crore. On Saturday, Sunjay's sister, Mandhira Kapur, shared an emotional and cryptic post, remembering her brother on Raksha Bandhan.

Mandhira shared a picture of her, Sunjay, and her mother, and wrote, "It’s taken me all day to write this, as today has been especially difficult. As Raksha Bandhan winds down, placing flowers near your picture, I tried to stay composed while Mum cried. The thread that binds us, invisible yet strong, remains unbroken, as eternal as our memories. I relive the moments spent with you, and now, I find myself protecting what you would have wanted, and what Dad dreamed, though it was always meant to be the other way around. If you were still here, everything would be different, everything would be better, my dear Bhaiya (sic)."

She further wrote, "Today, I tied a thread to the corner of your picture, gazing at your face—handsome, smiling, the brother who shared our dreams. You carried Dad’s legacy with strength; I know you would’ve kept building upon it. Protecting your memory is my sacred duty. We are brave, and I know you’ll continue to protect us. Raksha Bandhan reminds me that love transcends time. Our bond is unbreakable, forever intertwined (sic)."

Sunjay Kapur's Death

The 53-year-old businessman got a heart attack while playing Polo in Surrey, UK. There were even reports that he swallowed a bee while playing polo and because of that he got the heart attack.

While Karisma and Sunjay got divorced in 2016, after the latter's demise, the actress, along with her kids, went to Delhi for the funeral and prayer meet. Even Saif and Kareena accompanied Karisma.

A few days ago, Sunjay's mother Rani Kapur alleged there was foul play in her son's death. She filed a criminal complaint asking the UK authorities for a probe.
