Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif test positive for COVID-19

B-town is yet again exposed to Covid-19 with none other than Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif testing positive.

This news came on the heels of SRK announcing his pan-India film Jawan, to be directed by Atlee.

Perforce, Katrina had to skip the IIFA awards function in Dubai. It is the second time she has contracted infection; the last time was in April last year when the second wave of the pandemic was at its peak. However she has reportedly completed her quarantine period and is currently recuperating, as per sources.

Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has wished Shah Rukh a speedy 'recovery'.

“Just came to know that our Brand Ambassador Shahrukh Khan has been detected Covid positive. Pray for the fastest recovery for the superstar. Get well Shahrukh! Spring back asap!” Mamata Banerjee tweeted on Sunday.

Fans of Shah Rukh also expressed concerns over the actor's health on social media.

Katrina is not the first one in the industry to catch the virus. Recently, Akshay Kumar, Kartik Aaryan, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Karan Tacker also tested positive.

There was speculation that these actors may have contracted infection at Karan Johar's 50th birthday bash which was held recently. There are unsubstantiated reports that the event was a super-spreader which left over 50 guests infected with Covid-19.
