The state government has launched the ‘Visit 100 Schools’ initiative to evaluate and enhance educational standards across the region. Under this programme, Class 1 and 2 government officers will be tasked with visiting 100 schools within their respective jurisdictions. Their primary objective is to assess school conditions, identify areas of improvement, and recommend necessary measures to elevate the overall quality of education.
To mark the beginning of the academic year, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Ministers and other ministers, will personally visit schools in their respective constituencies.
This initiative, headed by Chief Minister Fadnavis, aims to enhance learning environments, improve student attendance, and ensure that schools are more accessible and appealing to young learners. The decision to implement this programme was taken during a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, with the presence of Deputy Chief Ministers and key officials from the School Education and Sports Department. To formalise the initiative, the School Education Department has issued a Government Resolution (GR) detailing its objectives and execution strategy.
“Officials will provide guidance on making schools more attractive and accessible, ensuring that students, especially those in rural settings, are encouraged to attend and engage in their studies. The programme also encourages immediate action in case any critical issues are identified during visits, such as unsafe infrastructure or unsanitary conditions. Public representatives and officials are urged to report any concerns and recommend solutions to the appropriate authorities,” the GR stated.

To facilitate smooth implementation, district education officers will coordinate the visits, ensuring that officials evaluate essential facilities, including sports infrastructure, sanitation, and midday meals. Additionally, discussions will be held with school management committees and village panchayats to strategise ways to boost enrolment in Zilla Parishad schools. Any pressing infrastructure issues will be promptly addressed through remedial actions.
This initiative is aimed at fostering a welcoming atmosphere and strengthening community involvement.
