Delhi University, King George’s Medical University In Lucknow Awarded NAAC A++ Grade In Latest Accreditation Cycle
Delhi University and KGMU, Lucknow, have been awarded the highest NAAC accreditation grade — A++ — in the latest evaluation cycle. DU scored a CGPA of 3.55, while KGMU secured 3.67, becoming the second medical college in UP to earn the top rating. The recognition highlights both institutions' excellence in academics, research, and infrastructure.

The Delhi University (DU) and King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, achieved the highly sought after A++ grade in NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) Cycle 2 evaluation.
DU and KGMU Join Elite Club with Highest CGPA Scores
Delhi University secured a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.55, solidifying its position as a top central university in the nation. On the other hand, KGMU attained an even better CGPA of 3.67, being just the second medical institution in Uttar Pradesh, following SGPGI Lucknow, to attain the A++ grade.
Both institutions were jubilant in celebrating the milestone. In a public statement, DU described it as a moment of pride for its faculty, students, alumni, and the broader academic community.
KGMU's Achievement Shines a Light on Medical Education in India
With the A++ grade, KGMU has entered an elite league of medical colleges known for their excellence. The only other institute in Uttar Pradesh to receive this honor is SGPGI, Lucknow, again reflecting how KGMU has emerged as a national leader in medical studies and research.
Berhampur University in Odisha Bags an A grade
In a similar development, Odisha's Berhampur University received an A grade in its third cycle of NAAC accreditation. The five-year rating is a testimony to the institution's persistent emphasis on academic development and growth.
What Makes the NAAC A++ Grade So Significant?
Conducted by the UGC-affiliated NAAC, the accreditation process assesses universities on key parameters like curriculum strength, research output, innovation, infrastructure, and student support systems.
-The A++ rating is the highest and remains in effect for five years.
-Though voluntary, it is increasingly viewed as a benchmark of quality assurance and a tool for building global academic credibility.
