Morena (Madhya Pradesh): In yet another rape case, a young woman was reported to be sexually assaulted at gunpoint in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena. Not only this, the video of the assault also went viral, prompting the victim to lodge a complaint with police.
The case has emerged from the Kailaras police station area. After a medical examination, an FIR was registered in the matter and efforts are underway to arrest the accused.
According to the complaint, the woman, a resident of Uchand village, said that Avdeep Dhakad from Shahadpur village came to her house and called her to a spot behind it.
There, he allegedly held a gun to her head and took her about 700 meters away to a stone quarry, where he raped her. She said the accused threatened to kill her family if she told anyone.
Police said the woman and the accused knew each other and had met at the quarry. During the assault, someone secretly recorded a video, which later went viral on social media. The video caused the woman public humiliation, after which she lodged the rape complaint.
Kailaras police station in-charge Biresh Singh Kushwah said that the case has been registered based on the woman’s statement. An investigation is underway to find out who recorded and circulated the video. The accused will be arrested soon.
