Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Two school principals have been booked over alleged irregularities in a book fair organised by Gwalior district administration on Thursday.

FIR has been filed against the principals of Amity International School Maharajpura (Maharajpura police station) and Amar Public School Thatipur (Thatipur police station) for failing to provide books by private publishers, which was mandate as per the fair's guideline.

District officials urge transparency in book selection

The education department has filed a report, which stateed that neither the school provided any list of books from private publishers nor did they provide any necessary book for the fair. Despite sending several notices the education department didn't receive any satisfactory response, which prompted a legal action.

The book fair is in it's second year and aims to provide books and stationery etc. at cheaper rates. This book fair has been a success in Jabalpur as it ensured Educational material in affordable rates for students.

Inspection at the fair

During a random inspection in the book fair on Wednesday, Collector Ruchika Chauhan urged the vendors to open the shop on time, she warned them of strict action if the problem persists. She also stated that if shops do no open on time, then it will be assumed that the vendors are selling at inflated price.
