MPPSC Exams: Candidates Request To Postpone Assistant Professor Exam Scheduled From June 1

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A group of candidates reached the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) office in Indore on Wednesday to request a change in the exam date for the Assistant Professor recruitment. 

The candidates submitted a memorandum to the officials which proposed that the date for the Assistant Professor Exam, scheduled for June 1, 2025, be postponed. 

They also presented five key reasons to support their demand. 

Commission officials have assured the candidates that their concerns will be considered. The key points raised by the candidates were as follows:

2022 Results Still Pending: Results for several subjects of the Assistant Professor Exam 2022 have not been announced yet. Some candidates, who can potentially be selected, are applying again. This could be unfair to new applicants. Since there is no waiting list in the main exam, this may reduce the chances for new candidates.

Interviews Ongoing: Interviews for some subjects are still undergoing, while dates for others are yet to be announced. This has caused confusion among the candidates.

Eligibility Rules: According to the MP State Eligibility Test (MPSET) rules, those who have already cleared NET or MPSET are not allowed to apply again to give new candidates a fair chance. A similar rule should apply to the Assistant Professor exam as well. For this, all results should be declared before the next exam is held.

Rare Vacancies: Assistant Professor vacancies are not announced every year. So far, they were conducted only in 1991, 2017, and 2022. Hence, the 2022 recruitment process should be completed before conducting the next exam.

Computer Science Subject Issue: Computer Science was added later as an optional subject, due to which many eligible candidates were unable to apply. Only those who got permission from the court could apply. Therefore, all eligible candidates should be given a fair opportunity.

The candidates are hopeful that the commission will consider their concerns seriously and announce a revised exam date soon.
