Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Congress state president Jitu Patwari has accused the BJP of shielding the accused in the brutal murder of four youths in Timri village in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur. In a post on X, he alleged that the crime had political backing, stating, "When crime spreads, BJP is always connected!" He further claimed that BJP Yuva Morcha (BJYM) leader Shrikant "Kukku" Verma helped the accused and shared a photo of Verma with BJP MLA Abhilash Pandey.
A tribute meeting is scheduled in Timri village of Jabalpur. The massacre, which took place on January 27, has sent shockwaves across the region. So far, the police have arrested 10 accused, but the opposition continues to question the impartiality of the investigation.

Amid these political allegations, the police investigation has uncovered new findings. Reports suggest that Verma facilitated a financial transaction for the accused. He allegedly transferred ₹27,000 through an MP Online centre in Pipariya. Call records have also revealed that the accused were in contact with him.
Following these revelations, the police are now examining Verma’s call details to gather further evidence. The MP Online centre operator has been questioned, and his statements have been recorded. However, before the police could reach Ujjain, Verma reportedly fled, raising suspicions about attempts to obstruct the investigation.
