Cops To Conduct Checking At 40 Places On New Year’s Eve In Bhopal
Police officials said that entry routes in the city will be under special watch of cops.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Traffic police will conduct checking drives at 40 strategic points and main crossings in the city on the eve of New Year. Traffic cops will intercept riders and car drivers while using speed radar guns.
Moreover, breath analysers will be used to check drunk driving as celebrations for New Year will be in full swing. Police officials said that entry routes in the city will be under special watch of cops.

Traffic police advised youths and those who will be celebrating the New Year to avoid drunk driving, over speeding, triple riding and use seatbelts. Officials said that people should follow traffic rules and avoid committing mistakes that may ruin their celebrations or may land them in trouble.
People should ensure that they return home safely after celebrating New Year, officials added. It is worth mentioning that on instructions of police officials, over 500 cops will be deployed in the city to avert any untoward incident on New Year’s Eve. Police will be equipped with body worn cameras while conducting checking drives at different points and crossing in the city.
Crackdown against criminals, notorious elements ahead of New Year
Ahead of the New Year, Bhopal police launched a massive crackdown against miscreants and anti-social elements while taking strict action against them. Moreover, police teams also took action against those found consuming liquor at public places.
Police officials said a special drive was launched to strengthen law and order ahead of New Year. During the combing operation, 1300 suspected criminals were checked. Among them action was taken against 963 under different cases.
Action was taken against 81 persons who were riding vehicles under the influence of alcohol. Moreover, effective action was also ensured against 338 persons who were creating ruckus at public places in an inebriated state, he added. Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra said the motive behind police action was to maintain peace and order and control incidents of crime. Action will continue in the coming days, he added.
