Katghora: Katghora police of Korba district in Chhattisgarh have achieved a major breakthrough by seizing a massive 500 kg consignment of cannabis from a container vehicle. Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted the vehicle near the Sutra Rapakharra bridge, leading to the arrest of the driver. The estimated market value of the seized contraband is around ₹1 crore.
According to police sources, the smuggling operation was being carried out using a Majda container vehicle. The informer had alerted authorities about the transportation of a significant quantity of cannabis, prompting the police to take swift action. Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered the narcotics tightly wrapped in brown tape.
