Chhattisgarh: Katghora Police Seize 500 Kg Of Cannabis Worth ₹1 Crore

Katghora: Katghora police of Korba district in Chhattisgarh have achieved a major breakthrough by seizing a massive 500 kg consignment of cannabis from a container vehicle. Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted the vehicle near the Sutra Rapakharra bridge, leading to the arrest of the driver. The estimated market value of the seized contraband is around ₹1 crore.

According to police sources, the smuggling operation was being carried out using a Majda container vehicle. The informer had alerted authorities about the transportation of a significant quantity of cannabis, prompting the police to take swift action. Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered the narcotics tightly wrapped in brown tape.

Initial investigations suggest that the consignment was being smuggled from Odisha to Uttar Pradesh. The arrested driver is being interrogated, and authorities believe the case may expose an inter-state smuggling network. The police are now delving into all possible links to uncover the full extent of the racket, with officials hinting at further revelations in the coming days.
