Ben Stokes led an outstanding bowling effort to get the massive breakthrough for England two overs before lunch on day one. The seam-bowling all-rounder brought one back against the right-hander, who left the ball, offering no shot. On-field umpire Rod Tucker took some time before raising the dreaded finger and did so. The replays returned three reds and not only the review was lost but also Gill had to walk back for 12.
Before the visiting captain perished for 12, Chris Woakes dismissed KL Rahul for 46, while Liam Dawson got the better of KL Rahul for 58.
