IPL 2026: Varun Chakravarthy Pulls Off Blinder To Dismiss In-Form Abhishek Sharma During SRH Vs KKR Clash

Kolkata, April 2: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Abhishek Sharma looked in great touch but missed out on his half-century after getting out for 48 runs off just 21 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2026 at Eden Gardens on Thursday. KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy pulled off a blinder to get rid of the in-form batter.

Amazing Catch

Abhishek Sharma played a lofted shot off Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani which was caught by Varun Chakravarthy on the boundary line. The catch was very low which was grabbed by Varun and the on-field umpire referred the decision to the third umpire.

Third Umpire

The third umpire checked the catch to confirm if it touched the ground. After he was satisfied, the umpire gave Abhishek Sharma out on the big screen. Abhishek Sharma missed his first half-century of the IPL 2026 season by only two runs.

After being asked to bat first by KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane, SRH openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma started aggressively and put early pressure on the bowlers.
