Later, Mohammed Shami starred with a record seven wickets to bowl New Zealand out for 327 and book a spot in the final as Daryl Mitchell's hundred went in vain.

Pat Cummins lost a crucial toss as the Proteas elected to bat first, but Australia's sensational new-ball bowling gave them nothing away. David Miller and Heinrich stitched a handy 95-run stand, with the former hammering a hundred to set Australia 213 to win.
