Shreyas Iyer walked into bat after Prabhsimran Singh was run out for a well made 43. While Punjab Kings were ahead of the run rate, the game was far from done with the visitors needing 115 runs in 11 overs. Shreyas initially took his time as Cooper Connolly turned aggressor. After the Australian was dismissed, Iyer turned a corner and went berserk to put Punjab in complete control.

Shreyas masterfully took the attack to the spinners, smashing Rahul Chahar for a six over the extra cover boundary. He then added another six after Chahar bowled it short to get his innings going.

Matt Henry was given the same treatment, with Shreyas picking up a six and boundary off his next over. Two overs later, he struck two boundaries off Anshul Kamboj to reach his half-century in 26 balls.
