In a shocking incident in Pune, a man died by suicide on the sessions court premises on Saturday afternoon, officials said. The man has been identified as Sohail Yenighure (28, a resident of Pashan).
According to the police, Yenighure and his wife had frequent disputes between themselves. Tired of this, they had come to the sessions court to file for divorce. However, they were not aware that the court was closed on Saturday.
"Yenighure hanged himself with his wife's scarf from a tamarind tree on the sessions court premises. It is not clear if his wife tried to stop him from taking this drastic step or not. No one else was present on the premises as it was a holiday," said Senior Police Inspector Chandrashekhar Sawant.
Further investigation is underway.
