Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) recovered the pending property tax to the tune of Rs 1.84 crore from the Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) on Thursday.
CSMC has initiated a rigorous tax recovery drive under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator G. Sreekanth. People who are paying the pending property and water taxes are also given concessions in the fines.
APMC had an outstanding property tax of more than Rs 1 crore for the past ten years. The matter was resolved on Thursday. APMC handed over a cheque of Rs 1.84 crore to the corporation. The action was initiated by Deputy Commissioner Vilas Navale and the employees of the Zone 5 office.
As per the directives of G. Sreekanth, residents paying the property and water taxes between the period of July 1 and August 1 were given a 95% concession in fines under the scheme ‘Shashti Se Azadi’.
CSMC has also provided online payment facilities for residents, and a chat number has been announced for queries. Sreekanth reviewed the tax recovery at the Zone 9 office. He interacted with the taxpayers and took feedback on the payment facilities provided by the corporation.
