The ‘Varsha’ bungalow, the official residence of the Chief Minister, has been a topic of discussion for the past few days. Nearly two months after assuming office, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has yet to move in. Instead, he continues to reside at Sagar Bungalow in Malabar Hill, where he previously stayed as Deputy Chief Minister.
Amid this, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has made a sensational claim, alleging that plans are underway to demolish the bungalow and construct a new one. He also questioned why Fadnavis has not yet taken up residence at Varsha.
He made a sarcastic statement, asking, “Why is Fadnavis’ family afraid to go to Varsha? It’s a simple question. Did I say there are lemons and chilies there? No.” He gave superstitious references indirectly. Raut further added, “They should go to live there, it’s the official residence of the CM. If they are not ready to sleep there, what’s the issue? What fear is there? What happened or has been done there? This is a matter of concern and investigation for the people of Maharashtra.”

Raut said, “It seems the chief minister is avoiding moving into his residence due to some unexplained fear. What could have happened? A decision has been made to demolish the bungalow and construct a new one. I have information that they plan to completely excavate and rebuild it from scratch.”
In response to Raut’s allegations, minister Ashish Shelar has said that the repair work on the Varsha bungalow is still underway, and Fadnavis will move in after a few days. He further mentioned that before speaking about bungalows, Raut should first explain how the Matoshree 2 bungalow was built.
