Mumbai: Work Begins On Kaka Joseph Baptista East Indian Garden At Juhu To Celebrate Heritage
The garden, named after lawyer, freedom fighter and city mayor, Joseph Baptista, called Kaka Baptista by his East Indian community, will have a theme celebrating the group's heritage.

Work will begin on the Kaka Joseph Baptista East Indian garden at Juhu. The garden, named after lawyer, freedom fighter and city mayor, Joseph Baptista, called Kaka Baptista by his East Indian community, will have a theme celebrating the group's heritage.

The garden will have a pergola, an elevated stage for performances, small museum with East Indian artefacts, audio visual attractions, a model of an East Indian gaothan or village, a well for performing wedding rituals like Umbracha Pani, a mobile library, a children's play area, lawns, and a statue of Kaka Joseph Baptista statue.
