Mumbai: Woman Dies By Suicide After Boyfriend Marries Another, Police Book Accuse

The Malwani Police have registered a case against Jitesh Gade (28) after his 22-year-old girlfriend died by suicide. According to the police, the victim had been in a relationship with Jitesh for four years, but he betrayed her trust by marrying another woman. Unable to bear the betrayal, the young woman hanged herself from a ceiling fan at her grandmother's house. The police are preparing to question Jitesh soon.

On January 26, 2025, Jitesh secretly traveled to his hometown and married another woman, leaving the victim heartbroken. On February 9, the victim returned home with visible injuries on her face, raising concerns among her family. The next day, she left home, telling her family she was going to work but never returned. By 9 PM, her relatives discovered her hanging at her grandmother's house. She was rushed to Shatabdi Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

During the investigation, police found that Jitesh had promised to marry the victim but later betrayed her, leading to her extreme distress. Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s mother, Malwani Police have registered a case against Jitesh Gade under charges of abetment to suicide. The investigation is ongoing, and police are set to question the accused soon.
