The instances of violence against Hindus living in Bangladesh are constantly increasing and has become a major issue between India and Bangladesh. While a lot of people have come out on social media demanding safety for them, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal have announced a massive protest in solidarity with the Hindus in Bangladesh.
The VHP and its youth wing Bajrang Dal’s volunteers will gather outside the Bangladesh Consulate General’s office in Cuffe Parade’s World Trade Centre at 3.30pm and express their support to the Hindu population facing attacks in Bangladesh. The protest will also demand release of the arrested ISKCON monk Chinmoy Das.
Amid rising instances of violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, Chinmoy Das was arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Monday. While Hindus in Bangladesh and across the world have opposed the police’ action, India’s Ministry of External Affairs also called the arrest “unfortunate” and said that a peaceful religious leader was detained while perpetrators of attacks against minorities remain at large.

The Free Press Journal had earlier reported that ISKCON’s Governing Body Commissioner Gauranga Das had also said that, “a person following his religion peacefully in any country should be respected.” While the issue remains unsolved, the VHP and Bajrang Dal will hit the ground on Monday to demand security for Hindus.
“We want the ISKCON priest to be released and the one-sided attacks on our Hindu brethren should be stopped immediately. Moreover, the perpetrators targeting Hindus should be immediately arrested. Law and order should be established in the country again so that they can protect lives and properties of Hindus,” said Shriraj Nair, national spokesperson, VHP.
