Mumbai: Delays from Government offices are not a new problem, these delays have become an unavoidable part of processes that involve the government. This young person from Sawantwadi in Konkan stood up against the authorities and declined to be a victim of this problem.
Despite receiving a valid appointment letter from a government-recognised organisation, a youth from Sawantwadi has been unemployed for more than eight months due to bureaucratic indifference. Petitioner Sumedh Shivaji Jadhav has done his postgraduate studies in English literature. He was selected as an Assistant Project Officer under the Maharashtra Employment Guarantee Scheme (EGS) in S2 Infotech International Limited, a private contractor appointed by the state government for personnel management. He also received the appointment letter on October 10, 2024 and the next day, S2 Infotech also formally informed the Deputy District Magistrate of the EGS branch in Sindhudurg about Jadhav's selection.
However, despite repeated follow-ups and visits to the relevant department in the ministry, Jadhav was not officially hired or given any clear response. Therefore, Jadhav has stated in his petition that despite the vacancy for the post and appointment to that post, he has been unemployed for more than eight months due to government apathy.
