49-year-old Mumbai woman from Vile Parle gang-raped by her friends in Ahmedabad, 2 accused arrested
Efforts are underway to nab those absconding, as per Mumbai Police.

Mumbai: A 49-year-old resident of Vile Parle was allegedly gang-raped by three acquaintances in Ahmedabad.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP, zone 8) Dikshit Gedam said, “We have arrested two suspects and one is at large. All efforts are underway for his arrest. The case will be thoroughly investigated.”
The key suspect, Lalasaheb Yadav, is a resident of Kandivali and is known to the victim, who resides with her husband and children in Vile Parle.
One accused on the run
The incident occurred on Jan 6 when the man visited the victim at her residence and took her along with two friends – Shashank Sawant and Rajput – to Ahmedabad for a visit. In Ahmedabad, they raped the woman under the influence of alcohol.
A police official said the woman narrated her ordeal to her husband and approached the Vile Parle police station, where a case was registered under sections 376 (rape), 376 (d), (e), 354 (molestation), 506, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
The two arrested accused have been remanded in police custody, while search is on for Rajput, the man on the run.
