Maharashtra: Central Railway RPF Heroes At Kasara Save Life Of Injured Employee In Remarkable Rescue Effort

Displaying extraordinary dedication and humanity, the Central Railway's Railway Protection Force (RPF) team at Kasara saved the life of an injured railway employee in a challenging rescue operation that highlighted their teamwork and commitment.
The incident unfolded when the RPF Post at Kasara received an urgent message from Ankit Garg, Sr. Section Engineer/Permanent Way on 1st January 2025, reporting a person lying near pole number 110/42 along the railway tracks. Responding immediately, RPF Sub-Inspector Ram Lakhan Kumar, accompanied by Head Constable Santosh Bagul and Official Vehicle Driver Mahipal Pandit, rushed to the scene.
Upon arrival, the team found a man unconscious and in critical condition. Understanding the gravity of the situation, they carried the injured individual on their shoulders to the nearest road, demonstrating incredible resilience and determination. The person was then transported to the nearest hospital for urgent medical care.
"Subsequent inquiries revealed the victim's identity as Somnath Eknath Shinde, a resident of Igatpuri and a railway employee working as a Track Maintainer with the Bhandup Unit No. 1. Shinde later informed the investigating team that he had been assaulted and robbed by unidentified individuals while returning home from duty. After being beaten severely, the culprits abandoned him near the tracks. Medical tests confirmed internal injuries, and his family was informed of the incident" said an official.
The RPF team's swift response, combined with their efforts to ensure Shinde's safety and medical treatment, has been widely praised. Their timely intervention undoubtedly saved a life and reflects the RPF's commitment to public service.
