Maharashtra Budget Session 2025: Mumbai Police Issues Traffic Advisory For Motorists; Check Restrictions In SoBo Areas

Mumbai: Mumbai Police issued a traffic advisory ahead of the Maharashtra Budget Session 2025, which begins on March 3. The advisory aims to prevent traffic congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement in south Mumbai during the session.

The Maharashtra Budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 is set to be presented in both Houses of the legislature on March 10. Traffic restrictions will remain in effect from March 3 until the conclusion of the session, according to an official notification issued by Pradnya Jedge, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Traffic, Mumbai Police.

To manage traffic effectively and minimize inconvenience to the public, Mumbai Traffic Police has announced the following measures:

Temporary Suspension of Pay-and-Park Facilities

Due to limited space for dignitaries’ vehicles, parking will be restricted in the following areas:

1. Jamanalal Bajaj Road (Usha Mehta Chowk to the dead end of the road)

2. Vinay K. Shah Road (Jamanalal Bajaj Road to Murli Deora Chowk)

3. Dorabji Tata Road (Murli Deora Chowk to Genda Point)

4. Ramnath Goenka Marg (Sakhar Bhavan to Vidhan Bhavan Road)

5. Vidhan Bhavan Road (Union Bank building to Madam Cama Road)

Designated Parking Areas for Dignitaries

To accommodate vehicles of officials attending the session, parking has been allocated on:

1. VV Rao Road

2. Free Press Journal Road

Road Closure and Traffic Diversions

Ramnath Goenka Marg will be temporarily closed to regular vehicular traffic when required. The closure will be enforced from Sakhar Bhavan to its junction with Vidhan Bhavan. However, emergency vehicles, including fire brigades, police vehicles and ambulances, will be allowed access.

With the Maharashtra Budget Session being a crucial legislative event, authorities have urged motorists to follow the traffic regulations and use alternative routes to avoid disruptions. The Mumbai Traffic Police will be monitoring the affected areas closely to ensure a smooth flow of vehicles.
