Mumbai: In a significant development in the 'India's Got Latent' controversy, Maharashtra Cyber Cell on Monday recorded the statement of comedian Samay Raina. The cyber officials interrogated Raina for nearly six hours at their Navi Mumbai office, questioning him about several aspects related to the show.
This came after the Cyber Cell issued a third summons to Raina last week, asking him to appear for questioning on March 24. Fearing an arrest warrant, Raina complied with the summons and appeared before the Cyber Cell to record his statement.
Raina, who had been out of the country following the controversy over controversial comments made on the show, returned and cooperated with the investigation.
According to Cyber Cell sources, Raina was initially issued a summons asking him to appear for questioning on March 17, but he failed to do so. Subsequently, the Cyber Cell issued a second summons on March 17, directing him to appear on March 19, but he again skipped it. Following his non-compliance, a third summons was issued on March 19, warning of legal action if he failed to appear.
