Central Railway Achieves 74.39 MT Freight Loading In FY 2024-25, Records Growth In February

Central Railway recorded an impressive freight loading of 74.39 million tonnes (MT) in the current financial year (up to February 28, 2025), with 7.28 MT loaded in February 2025 alone.

Freight loading for February 2025 saw the following growth:

208 rakes of petroleum products were loaded in February 2025, compared to 175 rakes in February 2024, registering a growth of 18.8%.

114 rakes of fertilizer were loaded in February 2025, compared to 98 rakes in February 2024, marking a 16.3% growth.

244 rakes of cement were loaded in February 2025, compared to 241 rakes in February 2024, reflecting a 1.2% increase.

Additionally, the average speed of freight trains improved by 2.1% over the previous year. The average interchange of trains per day also saw a 1.2% increase, with 374 trains per day this year compared to 367 trains per day last year.

Central Railway continues to make dedicated efforts to enhance its performance, leading to significant growth in freight loading.
