Uorfi Javed On Healing Her Relationship With Her Mother: Says, 'As A Daughter, I Was Mostly Angry At Her'
Reflecting on her younger years, Uorfi admitted that like many daughters, she once felt anger and frustration toward her mother

In a deeply personal conversation on the Yuvaa podcast, actress and internet sensation Uorfi Javed offered a rare glimpse into her evolving bond with her mother. Known for her bold fashion choices and unfiltered opinions, Uorfi revealed a softer, more introspective side as she spoke about the emotional transformation in her relationship with the woman who raised her.
Reflecting on her younger years, Uorfi admitted that like many daughters, she once felt anger and frustration toward her mother, emotions rooted in unmet emotional needs and moments of perceived neglect. “As daughters, we are angry at mothers, but as women, we understand them,” she said candidly. It was only as she matured and began to see the world through an adult lens that she realised the constraints her mother was operating under. This shift in perspective became the starting point for healing.
Perspective through growth and empathy
Uorfi explained how stepping into womanhood gave her insight into the complexities her mother faced- from societal pressures to financial struggles. What once felt like distance or indifference, she now recognises as survival under circumstances that offered little support. “She wasn’t being harsh; she was just limited,” Uorfi noted, highlighting how empathy emerged with age and life experience.
One of the key turning points in their relationship, Uorfi shared, was her ability to offer her mother financial independence. “Now she doesn’t have to ask her husband for ₹100 or ₹500,” Uorfi said proudly. That simple yet powerful shift, according to her, has changed the way her mother sees herself- and the way they connect as women.
Uorfi’s statement touched on a deeper issue often left unspoken in traditional households. How lack of financial autonomy can strain emotional bonds. By giving her mother a sense of freedom, Uorfi helped create a new foundation for their relationship -one based on mutual respect and empowerment, rather than dependence.
A journey of mutual healing
What makes their story even more impactful is that the growth wasn’t one-sided. Uorfi noted that her mother, too, is on a journey of self-awareness and transformation. “She’s working on herself,” the actress said, acknowledging that healing is most effective when both sides are willing to evolve.
Uorfi’s heartfelt revelations resonate with many who’ve navigated complicated parent-child dynamics. Her story serves as a reminder that understanding often replaces resentment, especially when we look beyond personal pain to see the human behind the title of “mother.” Through empathy, empowerment, and emotional maturity, Uorfi Javed and her mother are rebuilding their bond- not just as family, but as women learning to see each other anew.
