The UNESCO World Heritage Site is located in Maharashtra's Sahyadri range, 25 km from Satara. The breathtaking site, also known as Valley of Flowers, transforms into a vibrant carpet of seasonal flowers during the monsoon, which attracts nature lovers, photographers and tourists from across the state. The plateau opens for visitors when flowers of the valley bloom. This year, it is likely to open on September 1.

The flowering season at Kaas usually reaches its peak between September and October. Every year during the late monsoon, Kaas Plateau comes alive with thousands of colourful wildflowers. Visitors can witness multiple layers of flowers spread across the plateau, creating a breathtaking natural carpet.

How to register for visit?

It is mandatory to register themselves online before entering the protected area. The registration system is intended to regulate the number of visitors and help protect the fragile ecosystem.

To register for the Kaas Plateau (Kaas Pathar) flower season, visit the official Kaas Plateau Committee Website to book your entry slot in advance, which is mandatory on weekends and public holidays.

Visitor timings and guidelines

The plateau generally operates within designated visiting hours, with entry regulated to prevent overcrowding. Maximum entrance for the Kaas Plateau per day is 3000.

Entry is divided into 3 time slots, which are as follows:

7:00 AM – 11:00 AM: 1,000 visitors

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM: 1,000 visitors

3:00 PM – 6:00 PM: 1,000 visitors

Plan your visit according to the time slot mentioned above. Visitors are expected to follow strict ecological guidelines. Plucking flowers, walking into restricted flower patches, littering and damaging plants are prohibited. Tourists are also encouraged to avoid plastic and carry back their waste.
