Indore Rangpanchami Gair: City All Set To Be Drenched In Colours
The district administration on Friday afternoon reviewed the preparations and security arrangements in the city in view of the festival.
Indore Admin Gears Up For Colourful Gair On Rangpanchami | ANANDSHIVRE
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The city is all geared up for the traditional Rangpanchami Gair to be taken out on Saturday morning. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will also participate in it.
The district administration on Friday afternoon reviewed the preparations and security arrangements in the city in view of the festival.
District Collector Ashish Singh said, "Preparations to celebrate the 75-year-old tradition of Rangpanchami Gair are going on. Efforts are also underway to get it included in the UNESCO heritage list and next year we will try that the UNESCO team comes to Indore." Collector Singh further said that all security arrangements including CCTV cameras have been put in place. Fire brigade, ambulance and medical staff will also be available at the site.
The collector also warned that strict action would be taken against those who create ruckus during the Gair and people who bring weapons would be booked under NSA.

There are many people of Indore who left the city and country years ago and have settled in countries like America, England, Australia, Europe, South Africa and Kenya. Many of these NRIs are coming to Indore to participate in the Gair this year. Till Friday evening 60 NRIs have registered themselves to watch the Gair. Delegations are also coming from African countries to participate in Gair.
