Indore: 11 Brick Kilns Impeding MR 12 Construction Voluntarily Removed |
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The construction of the MR-12 road, a key project under the city's master plan, is gaining momentum as 11 out of 36 brick kilns obstructing the construction work were removed on Saturday.
The Indore Development Authority (IDA) is actively working to bring the master plan’s key infrastructure provisions to life.
IDA CEO RP Ahirwar, stated that MR-12 is designed as a parallel route to connect the Agra-Mumbai National Highway with Ujjain Road. However, the presence of 36 brick kilns along the remaining route had been a major hurdle.
To address this, sub divisional magistrate (SDM) conducted site inspections and discussed the issue with the brick kiln operators. IDA officials also informed the brick kiln operators about the master plan provisions and the need to vacate the land for road construction.
They were urged to voluntarily relocate their operations, failing which legal action would be taken. As many as, 11 brick kilns were voluntarily removed by their operators. Discussions are ongoing with the remaining operators, he added.
Ahirwar emphasised that the construction of MR-12 is being expedited, especially in light of the upcoming Simhastha Mahakumbh in Ujjain. The completion of this road is expected to enhance connectivity and support the region's infrastructure needs.
