Lucknow: Two individuals convicted in the Shravan Sahu murder case. Ajay Patel and Baboo Khan have been granted conditional bail by the Lucknow High Court's double bench. This comes less than a year after a CBI special court sentenced eight people, including Khan, to life imprisonment on August 22, 2024, also imposing a fine of Rs 1 lakh on each.
Advocate Alvi, representing Baboo Khan, stated that Khan's role in the 120B conspiracy was unclear, and his bail was granted based on the precedent set by Ajay Patel's earlier conditional bail on April 21, 2025.
The High Court had noted that mere proximity to a co-accused does not prove conspiracy. The High Court's decision on Baboo Khan's bail cited his lack of a substantial criminal record, his adherence to bail conditions during trial, and the unlikelihood of an early appeal hearing.
He was granted bail on a personal bond of ₹1 lakh with two sureties, with the condition of depositing half of the fine within one month.
