PM Modi Speaks To US President Donald Trump, Says 'Will Continue To Work Together For Global Peace & Prosperity'

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump on Thursday had a telephonic conversation. The two leaders discussed expanding cooperation in various areas. 

Sharing the news, PM Modi too to X and said, "Had a very warm and engaging conversation with President Trump. We reviewed the progress in our bilateral relations and discussed regional and international developments. India and the U.S. will continue to work together for global peace, stability and prosperity."

The phone call between the two leaders took place on a day when the US negotiators opened two days of trade talks in New Delhi. A top American official in Washington said India has put forward its strongest proposals yet for a long-pending bilateral pact.

Notably, today's call is the first call between the two leaders after Russian President Vladimir Putin's high-profile visit to India.

Notably, India and the United States are very close to finalising their long-pending trade deal. India’s Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) has confirmed that most of the major issues have already been resolved, and the talks are now in their final stage.

The development comes at a time when global business conditions are uncertain, and both countries are aiming for a stable, balanced, and growth-oriented agreement.
