J&K: Terrorist Amir Nazir Wani's Mother Pleads Him To Surrender In Final Video Call Before Encounter
This incident marks the second such encounter in the union territory within a 48-hour period. Just two days earlier, security forces had killed three Lashkar-e-Taiba militants during an operation in the Keller area of Shopian district.

A video capturing a video call conversation between a terrorist, who was killed in an encounter with security forces on Thursday, and his mother has surfaced on social media. In the video, the mother of the terrorist, identified as Amir Nazir Wani, can be heard pleading with him to surrender.
According to reports, Amir, who can be seen holding an AK-47 while speaking with his mother, refused to listen and said he would not surrender.
"Let the army come forward, then I will see," he told his mother.
Three militants from Jaish-e-Mohammed were killed during a security operation in Nadir village, in the Tral area of Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir. The deceased were identified as Asif Ahmed Sheikh, Amir Nazir Wani, and Yawar Ahmad Bhat—all local residents of Pulwama.
Before the confrontation began, Amir made a video call from their hideout to speak with his mother and sister. He also spoke with Asif's sister when she inquired about her brother. Notably, Asif's home in the Tral region had previously been destroyed using an IED during a counter-terrorism operation.
According to an India Today report, security forces had offered the terrorists an opportunity to surrender, but they responded by opening fire on the troops.
