A lightning strike on Saturday evening tragically killed one labourer and severely injured several others who were planting paddy on a farm Hamirpur.
The injured workers were immediately admitted to a nearby government hospital, where three are reported to be in critical condition.

The deceased has been identified as Pintu from Bhurwa, Banda district. According to fellow laborer Suresh from Valayan village, from same district, he and 11 others had been working in Govind Yadav's field in Sivni village since July 6. Around 4 PM on Saturday, as Pintu, Sunil, Nirmala, Lalit and Sushil from Valayan, Banda, were preparing paddy seedlings, lightning struck them.
