Hoshiarpur: A private bus caught fire in Punjab's Hoshiarpur, creating panic among passengers and forcing those on board to jump from the moving vehicle to save their lives. The horrific incident was captured on CCTV and is now going viral on social media.
Reportedly, the bus belonged to a private company and was travelling from Mukerian to Talwara. During the journey, a fire broke out in the engine wiring. The incident occurred on Wednesday, 6 August 2025, at around 6:00 PM.
CCTV footage shows women jumping from the moving bus and falling to the ground. Shortly afterwards, the bus comes to a stop, and people can be seen rushing out.
Fortunately, the fire did not spread further inside the bus, and only the wiring was damaged. It was quickly brought under control, preventing any major harm. Police and fire services arrived promptly at the scene and managed to contain the situation.
The local administration has launched a detailed investigation into the incident, and if any negligence is found, strict action will be taken. The incident has created an atmosphere of fear among passengers.
