Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad |
Raipur: Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad visited the Raipur Central Jail on Wednesday to meet those accused in the Balodabazar Collectorate arson and violence case. Following the meeting, he announced plans to stage a protest by laying siege to the Chief Minister’s residence on February 20th.
Azad criticized the government and police for their handling of the case, stating that they had falsely imprisoned innocent individuals from the Satnami community to cover up their own failures. He emphasized that if justice was not served, they would seek legal action, although he expressed frustration with the court's lack of progress on the issue.
He condemned the alleged mistreatment of women involved in the incident, claiming they were beaten and humiliated. Azad stated that once the inquiry commission’s report is released, the truth would become clear. He also accused the government of harboring ill will towards the Satnami community, calling the violence a direct result of this biased attitude.
Addressing allegations that his visit was politically motivated, Azad rejected the claim, insisting that his primary concern was the protection and dignity of the Satnami community, not the upcoming elections. He clarified that his visit was not for meeting any political figures, specifically denying meeting with Devendra Yadav, but to meet the Satnami community members directly.
