Parth Samthaan has officially joined CID 2 as ACP Ayushmaan, replacing Shivaji Satam's iconic ACP Pradyuman. Despite the backlash, he remains unfazed, focusing on the 'positive.' The actor initially rejected the role, calling it 'awkward,' but later accepted, stating, "I was also hesitant due to the show’s long-standing cast and the fact that they’d have to address me as 'sir' on screen."

Actor Parth Samthaan has joined the cast of CID 2, stepping into the shoes of Shivaji Satam by taking on the role of ACP Ayushmaan. The announcement sparked a massive backlash from netizens online, who were unhappy about him replacing the iconic character of ACP Pradyuman. However, Parth remains unfazed by the criticism and chooses to focus on the 'positive.'
The 34-year-old actor revealed that he initially rejected the role of ACP Pradyuman as he couldn’t relate to it, but after the makers urged him to reconsider, he eventually decided to come on board. "I was also hesitant due to the show’s long-standing cast and the fact that they’d have to address me as 'sir' on screen. It felt a bit unusual and awkward," he added.

Although he received a few offers during the break, he shared that most of them were similar romantic roles, which he wanted to avoid.
"When this show was offered to me, I decided to take on the challenge,” he shared.
