Pawandeep emerged as the winner of Indian Idol 12, taking home the winner's trophy, a car, and a cheque of ₹25 lakh. He competed against five finalists — Arunita Kanjilal, Mohd Danish, Sayli Kamble, Nihal Tauro, and Shanmukha Priya.
Who is Pawandeep Rajan?
Pawandeep Rajan hails from Uttarakhand's Champawat district. His father Suresh Rajan, mother Saroj Rajan and sister, Jyotideep Rajan, are Kumaoni folk artists.
Earlier, the singer won The Voice India in 2015, where he was in Shaan's team. He lifted the trophy with prize money of Rs 50 lakh and a car.
Pawandeep completed his primary education at University Senior Secondary School in Champawat. He later graduated from Kumaun University in Nainital, Uttarakhand.
Pawandeep won the youngest tabla player award at the age of 2.
In 2021, the singer was announced as as Uttarakhand's Art, Tourism, Culture Brand Ambassador by CM Pushkar Singh Dhami to promote state’s art, culture and tourism.
