‘False’: Did Siddharth Anand Deny The Reports Of Deepika Padukone Starring in Shah Rukh Khan’s King?

On Monday, an entertainment portal reported that Deepika Padukone will be seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the movie King. The actress will be having an extended cameo in the film, and will be playing the role of SRK’s ex-lover and Suhana Khan’s mother. Meanwhile, amid this report of Deepika starring in King, director Siddharth Anand, on his X account wrote, “False.”

He has not written anything else, but netizens are wondering whether he has denied the reports of Deepika’s casting in King. A netizen wrote, “I love Deepika. But I think it’s better she’s not in this movie. We already had her in Pathaan and Jawan. She’ll also be in Pathaan2. So it might be tiring for audiences to see her in KING. I say, bring Tabu, Madhuri or Kajol for the role. (sic)”

Another X user posted, “No deepika padukone .. pls sid bhai.. bhut repeat ho rhi jodi.. need some fresh pair.. pls (sic).” One more netizen tweeted, “True bhi bata doh fir.”

King is one of the most awaited upcoming movies. While the official announcement about the film is not yet made, Shah Rukh Khan at an event had confirmed that his next movie is titled King. The Siddharth Anand’s directorial also stars Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Abhay Verma.

Earlier, there were reports that Sujoy Gosh is directing King and Anand will also be producing it. However, while talking about King at the event, SRK had stated that Siddharth Anand is the director of the film.

Shah Rukh Khan was last seen on the big screens in Dunki which did reasonably well at the box office. In 2023, he had three releases, Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. Pathaan and Jawan became a blockbusters, and Dunki did decent business. Now, his fans are eagerly waiting for King. Apart from King, the actor also has Pathaan 2 lined up which will have Deepika Padukone as the female lead.
