Parineeta director Pradeep Sarkar passes away at 67
Reportedly, Sarkar suffered with kidney ailments and was on dialysis for quite some time now.

Filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar passed away in the wee hours of Friday, leaving the industry shocked and bereaved.
Sarkar was aged 68.
According to a report in Times of India, Sarkar breathed his last at around 3:30 am on Friday.

The report stated that Sarkar suffered with kidney ailments and was on dialysis for quite some time now. His potassium levels had also dropped drastically.
Sarkar's health deteriorated late in the night post which he was rushed to the hospital at 3 am.
According to his wife Panchali, Sarkar had been unwell ever since he was diagnosed with COVID-19 in July 2022.
His wife informed that the director had caught a fever recently. He was rushed to the hospital late in the night when he complained of discomfort and was put on ventilator. By then, the infection had spread to his lungs and he had contracted pneumonia.
However, he could not be saved and he breathed his last at the hospital.
Bollywood pays tribute
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta confirmed Sarkar's demise on social media. Sharing a picture of the late director, Mehta wrote, "Pradeep Sarkar. Dada. RIP."
Ajay Devgn wrote that the news was hard to digest for him. "The news of Pradeep Sarkar’s demise, ‘Dada’ to some of us is still hard to digest. My deepest condolences 💐. My prayers are with the departed and his family. RIP Dada".

A well-known and respected filmmaker in the showbiz, Sarkar has some of the most popular films to his credit, including 'Parineeta', 'Mardaani', 'Lafangey Parindey', 'Laaga Chunari Mein Daag', among others.
Not just that, but Sarkar had also served as the editor for the cult 'Munna Bhai MBBS'.
His last known work was the web series 'Duranga'.
Sarkar was also set to helm Kangana Ranaut's upcoming film, which is a biopic of legendary Bengali theatre superstar Noti Binodini.
