Dheeraj Dhoopar: 'I am lucky to have been bestowed with two big shows'

Actor Dheeraj Dhoopar is a recipient of many awards. He is best known for portraying Prem Bharadwaj in Sasural Simar Ka and Karan Luthra in Kundali Bhagya. He is not a trained dancer but is all set to allure the audiences in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 10 which can be seen on the Colors channel and Sherdil Shergill. In an exclusive interaction with The Free Press Journal, he opens up about participating in a reality show, managing family time, and more.

While doing Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Sherdil Shergill and managing family time, he is trying to strike a balance between the two. “I am lucky to have been bestowed with two big shows. I am grateful to the Almighty. I am trying to strike a balance between all of them. It’s all about time management. Yes, it is a little stressful, but I am managing. When it comes to spending time with my son, I try to be in the moment. I forget everything as soon as I hold him in my arms. God has blessed us with this precious feeling with my son. I forget the tiredness that I may have undergone while learning dance for Jhalak.”

Dheeraj is not a trained dancer, but Jhalak will help him learn to dance for this show. He gushes, “As this is my first reality show, I am trying to give my 100 per cent. I have not taken any formal training in dance, so I definitely have to put in a lot of hard work. This will be the best way for me to learn to dance. There are such huge performers teaching you the steps. You perform in the presence of such excellent judges, so what more can I ask for? I hope when I come out of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 10, I will be able to dance better on any dancing platform. I will also be a better actor as dancing is a form of expression and it will improve my craft as well.”

On a parting note, he talks about Madhuri Dixit Nene. “Madhuri is exquisite in whatever she does. Everyone is a fan of Madhuri and every generation looks up to her. She spreads an aura while she is present on the sets. She has that grace and poise in her personality, which shows in her acting and dancing. I would surely love to learn it from her,” he signs off.
