Pakistani actor-singer Ali Zafar has won the defamation case against fellow singer Meesha Shafi after a court in Lahore ruled in his favour and directed Shafi to pay damages of 5 million Pakistani rupees (approximately $17,900). The case dates back to 2018, when Zafar filed a defamation suit after Shafi accused him of sexual harassment in one of Pakistan’s most discussed cases linked to the global #MeToo movement.

Amid this, old clips of Ali’s flirtatious behaviour with Bollywood actresses, including his co-stars Yami Gautam, Parineeti Chopra, and Shraddha Kapoor, have gone viral, with some netizens saying his conduct in the videos made them uncomfortable. A video currently going viral on X shows Ali talking about a past relationship, where he said he felt "madness". When a female journalist asked what exactly he felt, Ali replied, "Raped… through the eyes."
The journalist quickly asked if he meant that he felt insecure or vulnerable, but Ali denied it and said he felt comfortable. The journalist then responded, "Okay, then I would not be using that word," referring to his use of the word 'rape.'

Further, in resurfaced clip from old interviews with Yami during the promotions of their film Total Siyapaa, the actress is heard saying, "Ali's real self is so scandalous for me."
During another interview with Zoom, Yami had expressed her wish to star in a period film. While Ali said she would look nice in the costume, Yami added that she would like to play a warrior princess. Ali then jokingly began mocking her by imitating her. He went on to say, "Lekin uske thode kapde pehne padte hain, taange-shaange nazar aa rahi hoti hain warrior princess ki toh."
Soon after his remark, Yami appeared visibly awkward, avoided responding to the comment, and instead asked the interviewer to move on to the next question.

After Ali's video went viral, netizens called him out on social media, with one user calling it 'deeply unsettling'. Another user said, "Someone should have really slapped him then and there. Disgusting piece of crap."
Background Of Ali Zafar, Meeesha Shafi's Case
The dispute began in April 2018 when Meesha Shafi, now 44, publicly accused Ali Zafar of sexual harassment through a series of posts on X, then known as Twitter. In her statement, she alleged that the incidents had occurred more than once.
Within hours of Shafi’s allegations, Ali Zafar responded on X, rejecting the claims and stating that he would pursue legal action.
Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi were once known to share a friendly professional relationship and are both well-known figures in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. Shafi had also appeared in a cameo role in a music video from Zafar’s debut album in 2003.
