MHT CET CAP Round 2 Option Entry 2026: The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, has started the option entry process for MHT CET CAP Round 2 counselling today, August 7, 2026. Eligible candidates can now log in to the official counselling portal, fe2026.mahacet.org, to submit and lock their preferred colleges and courses for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes for the 2026–27 academic session.

The option entry window will remain open until August 9, 2026. Candidates are advised to carefully arrange their preferences before the deadline, as no changes will be allowed after the choices are confirmed.

MHT CET CAP Round 2 Option Entry Schedule

Ahead of the choice-filling process, the CET Cell released the provisional vacant seat matrix for Round 2 on August 6, 2026. The list allows candidates to assess the availability of seats across participating colleges and branches before submitting their preferences.

The Round 2 option entry follows the completion of the first counselling round. The Round 1 seat allotment result was declared on August 2, while candidates were required to accept their allotted seats and report to the institutes by August 5.

Step 1: Visit the official counselling portal: fe2026.mahacet.org.

Step 2: Log in using your application ID and password.

Step 3: Select your preferred colleges and courses in the desired order.

Step 4: Review the entered preferences carefully before submission.

Step 5: Click on "Confirm" to lock your choices and download or save a copy for future reference.

MHT CET CAP Round 2: Candidates Can Revise or Submit Fresh Preferences

During the Round 2 option entry process, candidates can add, edit, delete, or reorder their college and course preferences based on the updated vacant seat list.Candidates who participated in Round 1 have the opportunity to modify their earlier preferences, while those who completed registration and document verification for Round 2 can submit their choices for the first time.

The Round 2 seat allotment will be prepared based on factors such as the candidate's merit rank, revised preferences, reservation category, and availability of seats.  Candidates are also advised to check the branch-wise and college-wise vacant seat matrix before finalising their options. Highly sought-after branches such as Computer Engineering, Information Technology, and Artificial Intelligence & Data Science are expected to witness only a marginal decline in cut-offs compared to the first round.

MHT CET CAP Round 2 Seat Allotment Date

After the option entry window closes on August 9, the CET Cell will process the submitted preferences and prepare the allotment list. The MHT CET CAP Round 2 provisional seat allotment result will be announced on August 12, 2026, on the official counselling portal. Candidates allotted a seat must complete the acceptance process within the prescribed timeline. Those receiving a seat for the first time in this round will also be required to pay the seat confirmation fee.
