'Made In India' is more than just three words, as it symbolises and embellishes the rising prowess of a nation. The idea of increasing manufacturing and industrializing a consumer-driven economy has been the cornerstone of many governments and their policy-making in the past.

RIP Made In India

The NDA government under PM Modi initiated the 'Make In India' policy to accentuate just that. The policy has come under attack from the opposition in the past. Recently, the Congress party, the country's official opposition party, mocked the government on the apparent failure of the scheme.

The party handle shared a post on X with an image depicting the tombstone claiming the death of Made In India.

The 'tombstone' said the date of 2014 - 2025. The post also had a caption, which sardonically read, "In loving memory of…"

Reacting to this post, tech and solutions company Zoho's founder, former CEO, and now its Chief Scientist attacked the party.

Sridhar Vembu Takes On Congress

Vembu said, "Meanwhile companies like us Make in India (and started making in Kerala recently too)."

Vembu then took an indirect and marked a veiled aim at the party's own previous, and something that has been the talking point of the ruling BJP.

He further added, "Make in India is gaining momentum and we have to make up for several lost decades."

"Reflect on why they were "lost decades" and perhaps you will appreciate Make in India better." Vembu quipped.

Battle With TN Government

Previously, Vembu has taken on the DMK government in Tamil Nadu on its tussle with the centre over the implementation of languages in Tamil Nadu, a state that is often dubbed as the Dravidian heartland.

In a post on the matter, Vembu invoked the neighbouring state of Andhra Pradesh, and asked TN CM Stalin to learn from the state.

On Saturday, he also met up with Tamil Nadu governor RN Ravi, who has had an uneasy equation with the state government.
