Satna (Madhya Pradesh): The prime accused in the recent shooting of a head constable at Jaitwara police station has been arrested after short encounter with the cops in the early hours of Saturday.
According to reports, the prime accused is identified as Acchu Sharma alias Adarsh. The operation took place near a brick kiln on the Tikuri-Akouna road at around 2:30 am, where the accused fired at police personnel when they attempted to arrest him. In retaliation the cops counter fired and the accused sustained a gunshot on his leg. Sharma was immediately rushed to a nearby district hospital for medical assistance.
This incident is followed by days after Sharma allegedly shot Head Constable Prince Garg. Garg sustained a gunshot wound on his shoulder and underwent treatment. Before the police could nab Sharma fled the scene.
A massive manhunt was launched with 10 teams of police across various areas. The police said "Tracking the accused became a task becuase Sharma didn't had a mobile phone, limiting digital access on him."
According to the police, they had surrounded the area where sharma was hiding. Sharma emerged and initiated an open fire while targeting the SHO, fortunately the SHO was wearing bulletproof jacket which saved him from bullets. But when in retaliation the police team fired, Sharma got wounded.
The authorities labelled Sharma as a maniac, further medical reports are awaited when he recovers entirely. Sharma had two pistols at the time of arrest. Earlier a bounty reward of ₹30,000 was announced for information on Sharma.
